Very — and getting better every year. Brisbane City Council manages 100+ designated off-leash areas, many along the river, plus a growing list of dog-friendly cafés and pet-welcoming hotels. The subtropical climate means patio weather almost year-round.
Here's the fun part: dogs are welcome on the Brisbane River CityCats and ferries — outside peak hours (avoid 6–8:30am and 3:30–7pm on weekdays), leashed and muzzled or in a carrier, out on the deck. There are even Bluey and Bingo 'CityDog' ferries. Trains and buses, though, are assistance-animals only, so drive or grab a taxi for those trips.
